The Department of Agriculture of Ketu North Municipal Assembly is carrying out sensitization and registration of farmers for a five- year “Planting for Food and Jobs” phase two programme across the municipality. The requirement for registration includes possession of Ghana card and farm land of any size. This programme which spans the period of 2024 to 2028 has the following objectives :
(i) Ensure food availability,
(ii)Promote import substitution,
(iii) Promote food export,
(iv) Create Jobs,
(v) Ensure food security and resilience.
Eleven (11) priority commodity value chains such as Rice, Maize, Sorghum, Soyabeans, Cassava, Yam, Plantain, Onion, Pepper, Tomato and Poultry (broilers) have been selected for the realization of the objectives of the PFJ 2.0.
