The Business Advisory Centre (BAC) of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly successfully organised a Mastercard Foundation training programme for 84 participants drawn from various communities within the municipality.

The training focused on cassava processing and rice processing. A total of 34 participants from Dzodze and Penyi were trained in the production of cassava chips and cassava ice cream. Additionally, 50 participants from Dekpor, Avalavi, Afife, and Weta received practical training in parboiled rice processing and the preparation of a local rice-based beverage known as Lamugin.

As part of the programme, participants were also taken through the Start Your Business (SYB) module, which equipped them with knowledge on business management, entrepreneurship, and the procedures involved in registering their businesses. This component was designed to help participants understand the commercial aspects of their products and improve their chances of establishing sustainable enterprises.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Rev. Martin Amenaki, graced the occasion and encouraged participants to take advantage of the skills acquired to establish their own businesses. He emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship in achieving financial independence and contributing to the growth of the local economy.

The programme forms part of efforts to promote skills development, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment within the Ketu North Municipality.
