Education, Youth and Sports

Responsible for pre-school, special school, basic education, youth and sports, development or organization and library services at the district level.

Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for the sound financial management of the District Assembly's resources.

Disaster Management and Prevention

Aim to educe, or avoid, trhe potential losses from hazards, assure prompt and appropriate assistance to victims of disaster, and achieve rapid and effective recovery.

Physical Planning

Manage the activities of the Department of Town and Country Planning and the Departments of Parks and Gardens.

Works

The Department of Works of the Assembly is a merger of Roads, Water and Sanitation, Estate and Building Units of the Assembly.

Health

Assists in the operation and maintenance of all health facilities under the jurisdiction of the regional and district coordinating council.

Food and Agriculture

Responsible for the formulation and implementation of agricultural policy for the Assembly within the framework of national policies.

Social Welfare and Community Development

Work in partnership with people in their communities to improve their social well-being through promoting development with equity for the disadvantaged, vulnerable and the excluded.
