Today, the Ketu North Municipal Assembly joined the rest of the nation to mark this year’s Tree for Life ceremony under the theme “Forests and Economies“. The Honourable MCE Hon. Martin Amenaki had the privilege of leading this noble exercise right here in our municipality, bringing together our local administration, forestry experts, and the community to plant seeds of hope for tomorrow.

​Before setting out into the field with our tools, The honourable MCE addressed the gathered participants to highlight the profound significance of the day. In his address, he reminded everyone that planting a tree goes beyond a mere symbolic act; it is a direct investment in our local ecosystem, a shield against climate change, and a commitment to safeguarding our land from degradation.

We were fortunate to have the technical supervision and support of professional officers from the Denu/Sogakope Forestry Commission. Their team provided critical guidance on proper planting techniques, spacing, and soil preparation, ensuring that each seedling has the best possible chance to thrive.

​The exercise focused on planting three distinct species of tree seedlings chosen for their resilience and environmental benefits: Mahogany, Acacia, and Cassia. By incorporating these sturdy varieties, we are consciously enhancing our local biodiversity and building a lasting green legacy. Today’s successful exercise stands as a testament to what we can achieve through unity of purpose, and the Ketu North Municipal Assembly remains committed to nurturing these trees as they grow to transform our landscape.
