The Ketu North Municipal Assembly held a stakeholders’ Town Hall Meeting in Dzodze to update community members on development projects, financial management, and local governance. Led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Reverend Martin Amenaki, and Coordinating Director, Mr. Bernard Sakyiama, the forum was organized in accordance with Ghana’s Local Governance Act, 2016. This law mandates that local assemblies engage with citizens at least twice a year to maintain accountability, transparency, and public inclusion in decision-making processes.

During the session, the Assembly highlighted several successfully completed infrastructure projects that had been initiated prior to the current MCE’s tenure. These accomplishments include a new classroom block, borehole, and water storage system at the Dzodze Technical Institute, a classroom block at Tsiyinu, a CHPS health compound with nurses’ quarters at Kuli, and additional housing for nurses at Penyi. Rev. Amenaki also shared updates on active, ongoing projects across the municipality, such as new health facilities at Adzoatsi and Kutsinu, a kindergarten block at Dzodze Fiagbedu, a school block at Tadzewu, and the rollout of 10 more community boreholes.

Beyond structural developments, the leadership celebrated the municipality’s economic progress, noting that Ketu North has become one of the top-performing districts in the Volta Region for collecting internally generated funds (IGF). The forum concluded with a strong call for unity from the Presiding Member, Mr. Edward Seke, who urged the diverse group of attendees—which included traditional chiefs, youth leaders, trade unions, women’s groups, and persons with disabilities—to look past political or personal differences and work together to fight poverty and build a sustainable local economy.
