PENYI WELCOMES HOME ITS SON: HON. REV. MARTIN PRINCE KORBLA AMENAKI PAYS HOMAGE TO PENYI TRADITIONAL LEADERS.

The traditional council of Penyi was filled with warmth and pride on Monday, April 14th, 2025, as they welcomed home one of their own, the newly confirmed Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E.) Rev. Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki. In a deeply symbolic gesture, Hon. Amenaki paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Penyi, Togbuiga Dadzi V, to express his sincere gratitude for the unwavering support and prayers he received from the traditional leaders, assembly members, and party members during his nomination and confirmation process. This visit also served as an opportunity for the M.C.E., a native son of Penyi, to humbly seek the blessings and guidance of the traditional authority as he prepares to embark on his official duties at the Municipal Assembly.

The Hon. M.C.E., accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director and their entourage, were met with a gracious reception from Togbuiga Dadzi V, the esteemed Chiefs and Queen Mothers of the Penyi Traditional Council, and various community representatives. Following traditional protocols and heartfelt greetings, an opening prayer was offered by Hon. Mac-Thompson Gbeti, the Assembly Member for Hattah-Dziehe. Subsequently, Hon. Rev. Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki and his team were formally introduced to the distinguished gathering, setting a tone of unity and collaboration for the discussions to follow.

In his address, Hon. Amenaki conveyed his profound appreciation to the people of Penyi and the Traditional Council for their steadfast support. He underscored the core principles of humility, dedicated service, and collaborative governance that will guide his leadership. Reassuring the Paramount Chief of his commitment to transparency and inclusivity, the Hon. M.C.E. pledged to champion the development needs of the Penyi area and serve as a proud ambassador for the community. Togbuiga Dadzi V responded with warm congratulations on the M.C.E.’s confirmation, commending his respect for traditional authority and urging him to remain focused, honest, trustworthy, and community-oriented, while prioritizing the development of the entire Municipality over partisan interests.

The Paramount Chief also highlighted critical developmental challenges facing the area, including inadequate road networks, insufficient health facilities, the pressing need for a technical and vocational institute, and the concerning rise in Indian hemp use. These concerns were echoed by Mama Worleyawo II and Torgbui Ekle II, who offered further words of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of impartiality and patience in leadership. In his closing remarks, Hon. Amenaki expressed his deep gratitude for the confidence placed in him and assured the traditional leaders of his commitment to implementing their valuable advice. He also shared positive news regarding the Denu to Ho road project and pledged to collaborate with the Hon. Member of Parliament to address the broader infrastructure needs of the Municipality, signaling a promising start to his tenure.
