In a significant step towards fostering unity and inclusive governance, the newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E) of Ketu North, Rev. Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki, paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Dzodze, Togbuiga Dzoku V, and his esteemed Sub-Chiefs at the royal palace on Monday, April 14th, 2025.

This visit, a key component of Hon. Amenaki’s post-confirmation stakeholder engagement strategy, which followed his successful confirmation on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, underscored his commitment to building a strong partnership between the Municipal Assembly and the traditional leadership within the municipality.

The primary objectives of the visit were multifaceted: to formally introduce the newly appointed M.C.E to the revered Paramount Chief and his sub-chiefs, to respectfully seek their blessings, wise counsel, and unwavering support as he embarks on his tenure, to engage in crucial discussions regarding developmental challenges and opportunities within Dzodze, and ultimately, to fortify the bonds of cooperation between the Assembly and traditional authorities for the realization of sustainable development across the municipality.

Togbuiga Dzoku V and his Sub-Chiefs warmly received the Hon. M.C.E and his delegation, adhering to established traditional protocols. The Paramount Chief extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Amenaki on his confirmation and lauded his humility and recognition of the indispensable role that traditional authorities play in the fabric of governance.

In his address, Togbuiga Dzoku V highlighted the growing concern surrounding chieftaincy disputes within Dzodze. He earnestly urged the Hon. M.C.E to ensure thorough and diligent investigations into any chieftaincy matters that may be brought to his attention before any decisions are made. Furthermore, he emphasized the pressing need for significant improvements to the road networks connecting Dzodze and its surrounding communities, a crucial factor for economic growth and accessibility.

Concluding his remarks, Togbuiga Dzoku V advised the Hon. M.C.E to champion transparency, fairness, and a community-centric approach in his leadership. He reassured the M.C.E of the Traditional Council’s unwavering commitment to supporting him in the execution of his duties, reiterating that his doors would always be open for dialogue and collaboration.

Responding with gratitude, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive expressed his sincere appreciation to the chiefs and the people of Dzodze for their continued support. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of traditional authorities to community development and governance, assuring the Paramount Chief of his dedication to inclusive leadership, active engagement at the grassroots level, and addressing the most pressing needs of the area. Hon. Amenaki reaffirmed his pledge to work collaboratively with all four Traditional Councils within the Municipality for the collective betterment of the municipality. He also assured Togbuiga Dzoku V of his unwavering commitment to fostering the strong unity that has historically defined Dzodze and Penyi as a thriving twin city.

Looking ahead, Hon. Amenaki announced that construction work would soon commence on key road networks, including the Denu – Ho and Dzodze – Ehi routes, as well as other significant roads within the Municipality. He highlighted his collaborative efforts with the Hon. Member of Parliament for the area, Eric Edem Agbana, to ensure the successful execution of these vital infrastructure projects.

In his concluding remarks, the Hon. M.C.E reiterated his deep appreciation for the warm and gracious reception, reaffirming his profound respect for traditional authority and his unwavering dedication to inclusive governance. This significant event has laid a strong and promising foundation for future cooperation and community-centered development throughout his tenure as the Municipal Chief Executive.

The delegation accompanying the Hon. M.C.E included his wife, Mrs. Gifty Amenaki, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Jasper Adenyo, and Gabriella Dopi Ketemepi. Also present at the significant gathering were esteemed members of the Dzodze Traditional Council, including Togbui Vodzi VI, Togbui Gordor III, Togbui Akpablie VI, Fiator Jack Avuglah, Togbui Dey III, Togbui Esoh IV, Tsiamiga Sofahu Amegbe, as well as some key party executives.
