The Ketu North Municipal Assembly successfully confirmed His Excellency the President’s nominee, Rev. Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki, as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) at a Special Meeting held on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025.
The confirmation, which saw a 100% YES vote from the 55 eligible Assembly Members present, was witnessed by key figures including the Hon. Regional Minister (James Gunu), the Hon. Member of Parliament (Eric Edem Agbana), traditional leaders, heads of security services, and the public.
The Hon. Presiding Member (Edward Seke) opened the meeting, expressing gratitude to the President for the nomination and urging unity among Assembly Members. The Hon. MP, Eric Edem Agbana, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for the MCE’s approval for the municipality’s development and calling for the resolution of local disputes.



Hon. Regional Minister James Gunu highlighted the government’s focus on local development through the restructured Ministry and passionately appealed for a unanimous endorsement, which was ultimately achieved.
Seventeen (17) government appointees were sworn into the Assembly before the MCE confirmation process. The Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr. Dominic Agbanu, outlined the voting requirements, stating that 37 votes were needed for confirmation.



Following a unanimous vote of 55 YES votes with no NO or rejected votes, Rev. Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki was declared confirmed and subsequently sworn in as the MCE.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected MCE expressed his gratitude and commitment to serving the municipality with dedication and purpose, aligning with the President’s “resetting agenda” and the MP’s “Adzorgbe” pledge. His vision focuses on comprehensive development through prioritized education, economic empowerment, improved healthcare, infrastructural development, inclusivity, and good governance. He called for collective effort and unity to achieve a prosperous future for Ketu North.

The Hon. Presiding Member concluded the meeting, urging the MCE to provide exemplary leadership for the municipality’s development.
