As part of measures to secure the investments of Mobile Money Vendors across the Municipality, Management of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly considered it prudent to engage these key stakeholders operating within the Municipality in order to share with them some security tips to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations.
During the engagement meeting held on Thursday 29th June, 2023, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor indicated that security must be seen as a shared responsibility and that as the Municipal Assembly was playing its part, the mobile money operators should also complement the efforts of the Assembly to ensure the security and protection of their investments.
He urged them to be vigilant and ensure due diligence in their operations. He also admonished them not to allow people use their offices as a resting place.
He encouraged them to register with the Assembly so that the Assembly can have a comprehensive database on them so as to foster a stronger collaboration and provide them with the necessary support.
Speaking at the event, the Station Officer for Dzodze Police Station, Inspector E.K Danyo said the modus operandi of criminals have changed and that criminal acts are now being committed through the use of technology. He advised the owners of the mobile money shops to provide adequate training to their respective employees before engaging and entrusting them with their working capital.
