As part of efforts to remedy the furniture deficit situation in various basic schools within the Ketu North Municipality, the Ketu North Municipal Assembly secured 250 dual desks from the Ministry of Education for onward distribution to basic schools.
At a short handing over ceremony which took place at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly on Wednesday 21st June, 2023, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor expressed his profound gratitude to the Ministry for the timely intervention and was hopeful that the furniture would go a long way to ameliorate the plight of the pupils who hitherto had to use improvised furniture to learn because of inadequate furniture in the schools.
He tasked the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Raphael Amenyo to ensure the proper usage and maintenance of the furniture in order to prolong their life span.
The Municipal Education Director, who received the furniture thanked the Municipal Chief Executive for the gesture and assured him that the furniture would be appropriately distributed to the various schools in order to enhance effective teaching and learning.
Present at the ceremony were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Jasper Adenyo and the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Raphael Amenyo. Others included Mr. Yanick Noah Agboado, Assistant Director 1, Mr. Seth Gbemu, Assistant Director IIB, Madam Rita Agbenyadzi, Assistant Procurement Officer, Miss Theresa Dorgbetor, Assistant Procurement Officer. Officers of the Municipal Education Directorate included, Mr. Helliot Tay, Administration and Finance, Mr. Senanu Mensah, Chief Inspector of School, Mr. Wisdom Kordorwu, Head of Planning, Mr. Manasseh Glover, Store Keeper and Mr. Theodore Coffie Denyoh, Officer in charge of Sports.
