LAUNCH OF THE EHI NUTOME GALI ZA FESTIVAL 2025: A CALL FOR UNITY AND SELF-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT

The Ehi Nutome Gali Za Festival 2025 was officially launched on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Gbegbekorfe under the theme “GALIZA; OUR COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT,” emphasizing unity and proactive citizen engagement to spur local growth. This annual cultural celebration highlights “gali” (gari/cassava) as a cornerstone for both consumption and a strategic driver for economic transformation through exports and agro processing in the Ketu North Municipality.

During the launch, The Honourable Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Rev. Martin Amenaki, outlined his vision for Ehi as a “hub for growth and opportunity” through government support initiatives, urging farmers to organize to access these programs, which align with the “Feed Ghana Programme.” Meanwhile, traditional leaders, including the Paramount Chief of Weta, Torgbuiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI, and the Ghana Education Service Public Relations Officer, Mr. Forgive Yao Agoha, passionately echoed the call for an end to tribal divisions and a shift from relying on external aid to active community contribution and self-initiated change.
