Pursuant to Section (10) (b) of the Local Government (Urban, Zonal and Town Councils and Unit Committees) (Establishment) Instrument, 2010 L.I 1967), the Ketu North Municipal Assembly inaugurated four (4) Sub-district Structures, namely Dzodze Zonal Council, Penyi Zonal Council, Weta Zonal Council and Afife Zonal Council under its supervision in a ceremony held on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th March, 2025.
The essence of the inauguration was to officially sworn in 15 Members (5 Permanent Assembly Members and 10 Unit Committee Members) of the various sub-district structures to steer the affairs of the Zonal Councils for the next one (1) year term on rotational basis.
Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Jasper Adenyo seized the opportunity to congratulate the Hon. Assembly Members and Unit Committee Members on their determination to serve their localities. He hinted that the major role of the Councilors was to play an oversight role in the execution of planned programmes and projects of the Assembly and help bring governance closer to the doorstep of the people.
Further, he encouraged them never to be in despair and weary in the course of their duties and urged them to give out their maximum best to build a functional and vibrant sub-structures.
He made a clarion call to them to strive hard and improve upon revenue base of the various sub-structures to serve as a catalyst for development.
Present at the ceremony were the Municipal Coordinating Director (Mr. Jasper Adenyo) and supported by the Secretaries and Treasurers of the Councils, Hon. Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, Traditional Authorities, Opinion Leaders and the general public.
