IMMEDIATE ACTION TAKEN ON FLOODED KPORKUVE-AGORDEKE ROAD

The attention of the Municipal Assembly was recently drawn to the distressing and impassable condition of the Kporkuve-Agordeke road caused by recent rainfall and flooding, severely disrupting movement for residents and commuters accessing surrounding communities like Afife. The Honourable MCE led a team, including Municipal Engineers, Technical Staff, and Senior Officials of the Assembly, to the site for a firsthand technical assessment, where it was confirmed that the damage resulted from a spillover from a nearby dam.

Due to the severity of the flooding, Engineers recommended that the dam be dredged, and proper water channels created, as immediate deployment of the DRIP machine was not feasible. While assuring residents that the road has  already been earmarked for construction through the efforts of the MP, Hon. Edem Agbana, the MCE expressed deep empathy and committed the Assembly to creating a temporary access route to ease movement as they work closely with relevant agencies for a lasting, long-term solution.
