Topics covered during the workshop included Ghana’s Decentralization Policy, the Local Governance System—encompassing context, policy framework, achievements, and challenges—the Assembly as a system, the specific roles and responsibilities of Assembly Members, Local Government and Administrative Laws, an overview of the Model Standing Orders, and the Assembly Member’s role as a leader and advocate for ethics, transparency, and accountability. Additional discussions focused on Local Government Revenue Mobilization, Local Economic Development (LED), and Job Creation.
