Ketu North Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Pencils of Promise has cut sod for building of three Unit Classroom Block for Tadzewu ARS Basic School.
The Dignitaries who graced the occasion were, The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Anthony Avorgbedor, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Jasper Adenyo, Municipal Education Director’s Representative, Mr. Helliott Tayan engineer of the assembly, Mr. Felix Ametefe, Country Director, Pencils of Promise, Mr. Freeman Gobah, Project Manager, Mr. Anthony Quarshigah, Hon. Patrick Meli Atippoe, Assembly Member, Togbe Agbeve Ayrim II, Chief of Tadzewu, Zongo Chief, Sarilie Amadu-Musah, Mr. Edem Agbana(NDCPC), Rev. Gadzo Robert, Rev. Seth Agbale, Mr. Agozie Mathew, SISO, Mr. Smile Mensah, JHS Headmaster and Mad. Wonder Dzotefe, Primary Headmistress.
The Country Director, Pencils of Promise said education is essential in one’s life and for pupils to be able to perform well in academics, they must have a good school building and a conducive environment to learn, and it is their aim to give the students these privileges to enable them excel in their studies. He said, they have devoted to support the project with 80% resources from the start to finish, and the rest 20% will be coming from the community which include sand, water and communion labor. He also admonished the people that with their help they would be able to complete the project on schedule.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor on his part thanked Pencil of Promise for listening and moved in to help. He cautioned the people not to steal or mishandle the materials and tools meant for the work. He also caution the people to help the workers with the communion labour for the project to be done within the stipulated timeframe. He inform the gathering that the Assembly is providing all the sand and gravels for the entire project to relief the tadzewu community of that burden. He also uses the platform to encourage them to get involved in the green Ghana day by planting more trees within their surroundings to prevent natural disasters.
Togbe Agbeve Ayrim II, thanked the Municipal Chief Executive and the Country Director of Pencils of Promise and their team for the good step taken to help resolve the challenge they are facing in their educational sector. He assured of maximun cooperation and support for the timely completion of the project.
