On the 14th September, 2023, the NADMO officers visited Afife Agorvega. The officers met about fifty (50) people and educated and trained them on hazard mapping, use of approved building materials and electrical gadgets to avoid disasters. Officers told them to take tree planting seriously since it serves as wind brake and source of income to them. They were also advised to create access road in new development projects sites in their communities.
They were educated on fires, both domestic and bush fires. NADMO informed them that palm-wine tappers and hunters are the cause of these fires.
