The Honourable MCE had the privilege of attending the Weta Rice Fair, an event sponsored by JICA and organized by the Weta Irrigation Scheme to highlight the Region’s immense potential and appeal for essential modern farming inputs. The fair successfully showcased various rice varieties and processed products, allowing farmers and experts to network and exchange ideas on improving rice production within the municipality.

Deeply sharing the concerns of the hardworking farmers, particularly regarding the absence of a reliable market, the Honourable MCE brought good news by announcing a timely intervention: the National Buffer Stock Company, through the initiative of MP Hon. Edem Agbana. He said provisions has been made to purchase locally produced rice and other farm produce for storage. The MCE, who is also a farmer, was honoured with a citation and equipment from JICA and pledged to apply the lessons learned to improve productivity across the Municipality, reaffirming his commitment to promoting food security and empowering farmers in Ketu North.
