To boost food security and significantly increase cassava productivity in Ketu North Municipality, the Department of Agriculture distributed improved, high-quality planting materials to selected farmers during the third quarter of 2025. A total of six farmers received stems of the high-yielding, disease-tolerant varieties, Sika Bankyi and AGRA, which are resistant to common diseases like cassava mosaic.

This initiative is designed to help establish multiplication fields, ensuring sustained access to quality planting materials for all local farmers. By promoting the adoption of these improved varieties, we aim to enhance household food security and significantly increase income through better cassava production.
