Biography
Hon. Anthony Komla Avorgbedor, the current Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu North Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region of the Republic of Ghana, is an entrepreneur and an astute businessman with over 30 years’ experience in creating jobs, resourcefulness and supporting youth development.
As the third Municipal Chief Executive of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, he has been involved in improving the quality of life and living standard of the people through effective use of both human and material resources in the provision of quality socio-economic service delivery. Under his leadership, the Assembly saw tremendous improvement in its revenue/resource mobilisation that translated in massive infrastructural development all over the municipality. He also led the charge in ensuring the youth get engaged in youth entrepreneurship that saw over 200 young men and women in the production of soap, pomade, brown sugar and many others.
He single handedly and from his personal resources ensured the establishment of Dzodze Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES). This Centre is meant to offer employable skills to mainly young girls who have served in servitude in Trokosi Shrines and for no fault of theirs do not have basic educational qualification into mainstream educational system. The ICCES has now been upgraded to the status of a Technical Institute because of its achievements
Prior to working for government, he was the Chief Executive Officer of M/S Ablordey Enterprise a Beverage Manufacturing Company at Dzodze. The company produced both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which employed well over 300 persons in both direct and indirect jobs. He also owns an Electrical Construction Company and a Block Manufacturing Company that produces precast concrete products for the construction industry.
In November, 2021, Hon. Anthony Komla Avorgbedor was inducted as a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance. He had his elementary education in Dzodze and continued to acquire skills at Accra Technical Institute. He has a Diploma in Human Resource Management with the Leading School of Management (Association of Business Executives ABE-UK).
He however has Certificates in Business Communication and Introduction to Business Management from the same Institution. He has been awarded a Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration on the 7th of October 2022 by Institut Universitaire La Grace Benin. Hon. Anthony Komla Avorgbedor is a born entrepreneur who sees opportunities in every situation and everywhere he finds himself. He is a family man with four children and married to Mrs. Irene Avorgbedor.
